MAINTENANCE GROUP LEADER - CANADA

Description:

Reporting to the Operations & Maintenance Manager, Ontario Wind Operations, the incumbent will provide direct supervision to operations and maintenance employees involved in the Prince Wind Energy Project. More specifically, the Maintenance Group Leader will have the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of wind turbines and associated equipment;
  • Troubleshoot complicated mechanical and electrical problems on variable pitch, variable speed wind turbines;
  • Lead a crew of multi skilled trades staff in the maintenance, repair or replacement of mechanical and electrical components;
  • Work collaboratively with all team members to meet corporate targets and goals in: safety, environment, equipment reliability and energy production performance;
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of maintenance program planning and execution;
  • Prepare and submit written job reports;
  • Respond to equipment problems outside of regular work hours;
  • Other duties as required.

Candidate profile – Experience and qualifications:

  • Minimum two to seven (2-7 ) years experience in wind, hydro or other electrical generation plant operation and maintenance;
  • Completion of a recognized mechanical, electrical or electronic program from a college or technical school;.
  • Journeyman electrician or industrial millwright;
  • Supervisory experience of mechanical or electrical trade staff;
  • Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license;
  • Ability to climb 90 m (300 ft) towers on a daily basis;
  • Desire to learn and take on new challenges;
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications;
  • Sound technical knowledge and the ability to read drawings and schematics.
