Reporting to the Managing Director, Risk Management for Brookfield Renewable Power, the incumbent will primarily be responsible for the coordination and quality review of risk management reporting produced by the Middle Office. 

More specifically, the Financial analyst will:

• Have overall responsibility for the quality review, coordination and issuance of various key reporting material such as the risk section of the Brookfield Renewable Energy Monthly Management book and other external or affiliate risk reporting requirements;
• Improve effectiveness of Middle Office reporting by suggesting and introducing different approach or concepts that would increase the clarity, usefulness, or comprehensiveness of reports in order to facilitate greater understanding of the evolution of the company’s portfolio in response to market events;
• Serve as primary contact to assure liaison between the Front Office and the Financial Reporting Group on internal risk management reporting and liaison with Brookfield Energy Marketing Inc’s Controller Group on external reporting requirements;
• Provide support and assistance during the integration of all new types of complex transactions into the various facets of risk management reporting;
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis on various topics pertaining to risk reports in close collaboration with groups such as Trading & Marketing and the BEMI Controller group;
• Support the Director, Risk Management in other various related task.

Candidate profile – Experience and qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline;
• Accounting or finance designation (an asset);
• 2-3 years of relevant experience;
• Ability to understand financial concepts and to translate them in applicable models;
• Demonstrated analytical skills;
• Sound judgment to escalate issues with recommendations to management;
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and in a team environment;
• Accurate and detailed oriented;
• High proficiency in Excel and with database management tools;
• Proficiency in English; bilingualism (French) an asset.
